So...you're on your own now. Have you started missing your mom's kitchen? Think you're avoiding the freshman 15? You're not. After months of underage drinking, cafeteria food, and raman your jeans are probably a little too snug. You know what the solution is right? Stop eating shit! I know, I know, eating well costs more than you want to expend right now. Or does it? You're ordering pizza, eating Mcdonalds, coffee (I don't advise giving that up), your schools non-biodegradable food, and your still eating out on occasion. If you do the math it's much more cost effective to replace some of those expenses with a home cooked meal.
Money aside-and that should be pretty damn convincing-think about what you're putting in your body. If you can't pronounce the obscure additions you probably shouldn't be coating your insides with the engineered substances. Pink Slime, Carminic Acid, Dimethylpolysiloxane- I cannot move my mouth well enough to say that-Nitrate, and Sulfur Dioxide. Yup you're eating coal tar. Feel a little sick? That's not even half the crap I found. I just don't want to type more random strings of letters. Google the rest and see what else you're eating. I'll wait...
So once you've rinsed out you're mouth from throwing up I want you to know, I'm not by nature a hippy dippy naturalist. I like the convenience, I like the initial cost, and hell I LOVE Whoppers. BUT, I serve logic and my wallet above all else. Logic dictates eating better. More than that, it's not as big a chore as you think. It's a little well...fun. Cooking, planning the meals, directing assistants is exciting and makes you feel more grown up. I mean you are actually talking charge of this huge aspect of your life. Instead of robots, and that bitch from high school feeding you; you are feeding you. You slowly get to learn the mystic of the kitchen. This is not what it's actually like Magic Chicken Dinner.
It's just exciting. I'm a bit of a nerd, and prone to hyperbole so maybe it won't be as fun for you but it'll be close. I make a commotion once a week for meals. It's sort of my date night with my boy (that might be why I think it's so fun). I cook something really nice on that night but I try to cook about half of my meals. I still have a meal plan with my school so I have to still eat sludge part time. So I'll be posting one fairly nice meal every week and probably a few easier cheaper things throughout the week.
